had a great short break in valence, de lyon exceeded expectations. convenient location near station and old town with lots of restaurants. staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. decent breakfast too.

The room we stayed in was quite small and poorly appointed, with the beds pushed together and a strong smell of cigarette smoke. The bathroom facilities were cramped and uncomfortable to use, with a tiny shower and toilet area.

The wifi was nonexistent on the second and third floors, which was frustrating. The hotel had a strong unpleasant smell throughout, making it quite uncomfortable.

It was like sleeping in a broom cupboard in fact I would question the safety as I banged my head arm and legs and came away with bruises - the shower/ loo and washbasin wasn't at all sufficient to wash safely

I stayed at the Hotel De Lyon in Valence for one night and it was perfect for my needs. The location was great, close to the kiosk and the old town. The duty manager was friendly and spoke English, which was a bonus. The room was basic but comfortable, with a clean and bright atmosphere. The bed had fresh linen and the bathroom, although compact, was clean and functional. I appreciated the safe and cheap overnight parking near the Valence SNCF railway station. a good hotel for overnight stays at a reasonable price.

In the middle of the city

We had booked a car parking space but were told there was none, only to see the next guest get one. The rooms were a very poor size and the shower a plastic cubicle. This hotel was most expensive on our travelling trip by over 20Euros and yet had the worst facilities. I would not recommend it to anyone. Look somewhere else
